The Adivasi Hakkula Porata Samithi (Tudum Debba) on Monday informed the administrations of Adilabad and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts that the Adivasis would stop Lambada officials from entering their habitations starting June 1.

The organisation said the grama sabhas in villages in Scheduled Areas are competent to take such a steps as they are empowered through Article 244 (1), Fifth Schedule para (13) and other rules. In separate representations, the Tudum Debba said Lambada employees had discriminated against aboriginal people in implementing development programmes and hence this step was necessary. The organisation accused the Lambadas of gaining illegal entry into the Scheduled Tribes list and cornering jobs.
