Vehicle lifters held, 18 vehicles seized

The Karimnagar Two Town police have arrested six persons and recovered 18 stolen motor cycles valued at Rs.7.5 lakh from their possession. Disclosing this to reporters here on Friday, Karimnagar DSP J. Rama Rao said that the Karimnagar police apprehended Adavalla Laxman (20). He was moving under suspicious circumstances during a vehicle checking initiative by the police at SRR Government Degree College in the town on Friday.

During the interrogation, he revealed about stealing of 14 motor cycles in various parts of Karimnagar.

He also said that he along with four others Agurla Anil (20), Appala Tirupathi (22), Appala Kumar (20) and Myakala Kumara Swamy (19) stole four other motor cycles in the town. The police also arrested Arepalli Aneesh (21), who was selling the stolen vehicles to the people.

The DSP said that the complaints were lodged for only 12 motor cycles in the district and the remaining six vehicles were unclaimed.

The DSP aked the people to suspect anyone dragging vehicle in the name of repair as they could be vehicle lifters. Two Town CI K. Hari Prasad, SI N. Mogili and other constabulary staff were also present. The DSP appreciated the police team for nabbing the accused and recovery of stolen vehicles.
