TDP demands Bharat Ratna for NTR

The Telugu Desam Party, Karimnagar town unit, demanded that the Union government announce a Bharat Ratna for party founder president N.T. Rama Rao.

At the general body meeting of the TDP in Karimnagar town on Monday, town president K. Agaiah said Mr. Rao brought in political awareness and empowered all sections of the society by launching the TDP. The government should recognise the popular leader and give him a Bharat Ratna on the occasion of his 21st death anniversary on January 18.

Mr. Agaih said the TDP would conduct various programmes on January 18 in Karimnagar town.
