Students design working model of fire safety alarm on trains

Students of Siddartha High School in Bhagathnagar of Karimnagar town won accolades for their science project on preventing fire accidents in moving trains, at a science exhibition organised in the school on Saturday.

In the wake of frequent fire accidents in trains, class 9 students S. Chenna Kesav, Navi Teja, and Mahesh designed a working model of a fire safety alarm on trains. Once the fire reaches a certain temperature, an alarm alerts the driver to stop the train and subsequently put out the fire with the water provided in the train.

This and many more science models were on display at the two-day science exhibition, Scizone-2017, which was inaugurated by Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed. District Education Officer M. Rajeev and Municipal Corporator Gugilla Jayashree also attended the fête. The Collector and DEO went around every every stall and interacted with the students.

Mr. Ahmed inquired about the science models, which included automatic streetlights, modern car parking, and solar spinning mill.
