Manjeera, famous as a river across Telangana, will soon come in news on a day-to-day basis.

According to sources, it was decided to name the district, that would be formed with Sangareddy as the district headquarters, as Manjeera. The move is aimed at avoiding any controversies. A decision was taken in this regard at the recently held meeting of the public representatives, and the suggestion came from former MLC R. Satyanarayana and MLA Chinta Prabhakar. Even Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao reportedly gave consent to the proposal.

Meanwhile, demands for establishing new mandals and revenue divisions have been increasing as the issues are sensitive enough with the local leaders, beyond party lines, taking advantage to be in the limelight.

Zaheerabad legislator J. Geeta Reddy had already announced that she would take up agitation for making the constituency headquarter as revenue divisional headquarter as well. Sangareddy already is a revenue division and there is a demand to make Narayankhed too a revenue division. There were also proposals to make Gajwel constituency headquarter a revenue divisional headquarter.

Similarly, the initial proposal to make Narasapur a part of Medak district was opposed by locals. Proposals are under consideration for Vatpally in Alladurg mandal and Komuravelli in Cheryal mandal of Warangal district. While Vatpally would be part of Manjeera district, Komuravelli will be part of Sangareddy district.
