As a befitting tribute to the renowned saint composer Bhakta Ramadasu, the State government has decided to install the statue of the highly acclaimed Vaggeyakara in his native place Nelakondapalli on the occasion of his birth anniversary on January 31.

The statue will be unveiled by Minister for Roads and Buildings T Nageswara Rao at the Dhyana Mandiram in Nelakondapalli marking the beginning of the three-day State-sponsored birth anniversary celebrations of the saint composer on Tuesday morning.

The Department of Language and Culture made all arrangements to conduct Ramadasu's birth anniversary celebrations on a grand scale in association with Sri Bhakta Ramadasa Vidwath Kala Peetam in Nelakondapalli. A host of devotional music, cultural and literary programmes have been lined up during the three-day celebrations. Minister for Endowments A Indrakaran Reddy will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
