Hanamkonda police arrest 3 Maoists

The police arrested three CPI (Maoist) action team members and a newly recruited member. They also recovered a short weapon, ammunition, gelatin sticks and revolutionary literature from them.

Hanamkonda ACP K. Muralidhar produced the arrested members before media at KU Campus police station in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.

He said the arrested persons were involved in recruiting new cadre at the behest of Maoist outfit State secretary Yapa Naranyana alias Haribhushan and its KKW secretary Damodar.

The arrested were identified as T Devender alias Rama Rao of Sudhanapalli in Hasanparthy mandal, Bhukya Srinivas alias P Srinu of Ponugodu of Gudur mandal and Ch Narayana Swamy of Sriramulapalli of Kamalapur mandal. They were members of Telangana Youth Federation.

The newly recruited member was identified as Lingala Vennela alias Dhannu of Paidipalli in Hasanparthy mandal.

The police also recovered photographs of the action team members carrying weapons in the forests and they were said to be tasked to carry out action on the targets given by the party.
