January 06, 2017 08:57 pm | Updated 08:57 pm IST - KARIMNAGAR:

The Lok Satta udyama samstha, Karimnagar district unit, urged the State police machinery to register a criminal case against Reserve Constable B. Srikanth for allegedly causing serious injuries to Samudrala village sarpanch B. Ravi.

In a press note here on Friday, Lok Satta district president N. Srinivas and general secretary Prakash Holla said the Constable had severely beaten up the sarpanch of Samudrala village in Koheda mandal over a small rift at an ATM in Koheda mandal headquarters on January 2. The sarpanch was hospitalised and even went to coma following the injuries.

They urged the police to suspend the Constable and register a criminal case for unnecessarily thrashing a sincere public representative. They also urged the government to recover video footage from the ATM and provide justice to the sarpanch, who is battling for his life at a corporate hospital in Karimnagar town.
