Work under the Kondapochamma project stalled in Siddipet district.

The land oustees of Kondapochamma made it clear to the officials that it was not possible to allow works to continue till their demands were met. Gajwel revenue divisional officer (RDO) D. Vijayender Reddy held discussions with the villagers of Mamidyala for about eight hours and urged them to allow the works, with the promise that their demands would be met shortly.

“We are in the final stage of the project and so far you have cooperated with us. First check the measurements made by the officials. We will commence the work after your approval. Government is ready to give you whatever is due. We admit that the payment has been delayed due to other programmes. The data of everyone in the village is available with the government and we are taking steps on making the payments,” Mr. Vijayender Reddy told the villagers. The rate for vacant lands is yet to be fixed. Once it is fixed the amount would be paid.

“Within one month the government wants to close the issue, make the complete payments and let you vacate the village. You will be scattered. No one knows who will settle where. You will be given an option form for plot/ house, based on which the payments would be made,” he told the oustees.

When some of the oustees pointed out that the list of the beneficiaries getting the double bedroom must be made public first, the RDO said that it was not possible. “Please let us know the payment that we will receive for our houses and then only we will allow works. Till then no work will be allowed,” the villagers made it clear to the officials.

MRO Nagamani and Sub-Inspector Srisailam accompanied the RDO.
