The district administration and Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation have been asked to prepare development plans with an outlay of ₹5,000 crore for the next 2 years. The Municipal officials were asked to prepare Smart City Project plans with an estimated fund of ₹2,750 crore.
Reviewing the development activities here on Sunday, Deputy CM Kadiam Srihari asked officials to complete the Master Plan by December 15 and put it for public debate till December 31.
District Collectors P.J. Patil and K. Amrapali, Municipal Commissioner Sruthi Ojha, Mayor N. Narender etc. were present. KUDA Chairman M. Yadava Reddy, MLAs K. Surekha and D. Vinay Bhaskar and MP P. Dayakar were among those present at the review meeting.
“The new master plan should come into force by March 2018,” he told them.
The roads connecting Warangal city with Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Mulug, Narasampet, Khammam and the villages surrounding the city which are in newly-created districts, should also be taken into consideration while drawing the plans, he said.
A separate plan for development of historic monuments such as Thousand Pillar temple, Padmakshi temple and surrounding, Fort Warangal among others in the city under Hriday plan with ₹35-crore budget from the Central Government, would also be prepared.
“The State Government released ₹600 crore during the last two years as promised by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and efforts should be made to utilise the amount effectively and efficiently,” Mr. Srihari said.
