Hundreds of students, district officials, police personnel, and representatives of various voluntary organisations pedalled four kilometres on their bicycles in Karimnagar town on Monday as part of the 4k Cyclothon organised by the Municipal Corporation of Karimnagar (MCK) and Commissionerate of Police.

The cyclothon was held to raise awareness on the importance of health and protection of environment.

Karimnagar MP B. Vinod Kumar flagged off the rally from Ambedkar stadium. Mayor S. Ravinder Singh, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, MLA G. Kamalakar, Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, Commissioner of Police V.B. Kamalasan Reddy, and Municipal Commissioner K. Shashanka also took part in the event.

Health benefits

The speakers urged the people to use their bicycle at least once a week to not only protect the environment from pollution, but also for its health benefits.
