Stating that a total of 4,517 tanks would be restored in a phased manner under Mission Kakatiya in the district, parliamentary secretary (Chief Minister’s Office) and Kothagudem MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao said that as many as 903 tanks will be restored in the first phase.
Estimates were already submitted to the government for restoration of 284 tanks soon, he said.
Mr. Rao reviewed the implementation of various developmental activities and flagship programmes of the government with the district officials at a meeting held here on Monday evening.
He asked the departments concerned to work in tandem to ensure effective implementation of Aasara pension scheme and other welfare programmes in a transparent and accountable manner.
He wanted the district authorities to focus on the ambitious Water Grid scheme and pending drinking and irrigation projects.
Mr. Rao asked the officials to prepare comprehensive action plan to ensure smooth conduct of the Godavari Pushkaralu in Bhadrachalam to be held in July this year.
He said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to visit the district in February first week. Earlier, Mr. Rao garlanded the statue of Telangana Thalli.
