Youth falls from train, rescued

A young man, who accidentally fell from a moving train in the early hours of Wednesday, was rescued by the railway police.

Anandan (25) of Tiruchi slipped and fell from Sethu Express bound for Chennai between Tirumayam and Namanasamuthiram stations when walking from the toilet on board train. His friends stopped the train by pulling the emergency chain and alerted the railway police on board who in turn alerted their counterparts at the Pudukottai station.

The Pudukottai railway police conducted a search all along the track and spotted the youth at Idaiyarnatham village near Pulivalam.

The youth was rushed to the Government Headquarters Hospital from where he was referred to a private hospital in Coimbatore.
