dies in sea
R. Shanmuganathan (25), who had set out for fishing in a ‘Vathai’ (small shore boat propelled with the help of a pole), along with his friend Kumar (22), fell down and went missing off Kunthukal on Saturday evening.
Police said Kumar after searching in vain returned to the shore in the evening itself and informed the police. Though the marine police of the Coastal Security Group searched, they could not trace him.
Meanwhile, his body was found washed ashore near Kunthukal on Sunday morning. The marine police after registering a case handed over the body to his parents after post-mortem. The deceased, a bachelor, is survived by his parents.
