Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Singh said P. Subramani (43), M Deivasigamani (39), K. Nagaraj (27), S. Anand (27) were arrested. P. Rangaraj (40), who is at large, had abducted the deceased on Monday night along the other four. “The gang had abducted the father and the girl, as the main accused Subramani had lent Rs 60,000 to Thangavel and a sizeable portion of the amount was yet to be repaid,” he said. They took them to the house of Subramani where Thangavel was murdered using wooden logs. The body was then burnt and dumped in a pit, Mr. Singh said.
