Worker climbs up mobile phone tower

October 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - TIRUNELVELI:

Tension prevailed near Gangaikondan on Wednesday afternoon after a worker climbed up a mobile phone tower in protest against reported registration of “false cases” against him.

Alleging that the police foisted cases against him, G. Subramanian (53) of Anaithalaiyoor under Gangaikondan police station limits climbed up a mobile phone tower.

He warned that he would jump from the tower if the “false” cases were not withdrawn.

The police and Fire and Rescue Services personnel rushed to the spot and negotiated with him.

As he got down from the tower after he was pacified by the police, Subramanian was taken to the police station for interrogation.
