Vice Chancellor of Periyar University C. Swaminathan hoisted the National Flag at the Republic Day celebrations on the university campus on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that India’s major strength lies in the unity in diversity. The country accounted for many states, different cultures, and languages. This did not come in the way of maintaining the social fabric of the country intact.
Dr. Swaminathan said that the future of the country greatly depended on the youth and urged the students to live up to the expectations of the countrymen.
