Members of South India Gandhi Gram Nirman Seva Dal staged ‘satyagraha’ in front of a wine shop at Palayamkottai on Tuesday demanding total prohibition in Tamil Nadu.

Led by organisation’s president Vivekanandan, the members staged ‘satyagraha’ in front of TASMAC’s Indian Made Foreign Liquor shop near Jawahar Grounds in Palayamkottai and raised slogans demanding ‘total prohibition’ in Tamil Nadu.

The members also read prayers from Hinduism, Islam and Christianity and said ban on liquor sale alone could save the younger generation from evils of all sorts.

Organisation’s members Rev. Fr. Antony A. Cruz, Subramaniya Mazhavarayar, Muthusamy, Ram Mohan, Duraisamy, Mumtaz, and others spoke.
