September 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - DINDIGUL:

A total of 300 persons, including 200 women, from Thamaraipadi laid a siege to Vadamadurai police station here on Monday demanding action against persons who photographed them through mobile phones and sent to others through WhatsApp. Traffic was disrupted on the main road in the town for an hour.

The women complained that Marimuthu (35) and Siva (30), daily wage workers, photographed three women at the village while they were washing clothes and playing games in their houses and sent to their friends with sarcastic comments.

Thamaraipadi panchayat president Abdul Khader too had received these messages. A complaint was lodged with Vadamadurai police station three days ago.

But no action was taken till now, they alleged. Later, they withdrew the agitation after the police registered a case against them.
