Tension prevailed in Keezhmuttukur village, in KV Kuppam in Vellore district, after a suspected kerosene bomb attack on a house, which caused injuries to a pregnant woman.

Police sources said it was an aftermath of a clash between two groups of students.

It was found to be a bottle loaded with kerosene, which was thrown at the house of the complainant Sampath.

In the impact, Sampath’s wife suffered injuries and was treated at a hospital in Vaduganthangal.

As a preventive measure police picketing was posted, said a senior police officer. “No arrests have been made so far. Investigations are underway. It may be recalled that police picketing existed since Thursday in the village, and it has been increased,” he added.
