A road rage on the expressway to Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) led to the death of a 27-year-old NRI who was on her way to the airport to board a flight to Hong Kong late on Saturday.

The victim’s mother and cab driver sustained serious injuries.

Jagruthi Sadhwani died on the spot when her cab rammed a stationary bus on the expressway near Vidyanagar, Chikkajala.

Driver Ashwaq Ahmed had parked his bus in the middle of the road and was arguing with car driver, Arjun, after an accident involving both their vehicles.

Honnesh, cab driver, who was driving Jagruthi and her mother, Priya Sadhwani, to the airport did not realise that the bus had been parked and he rammed it.

The police said that the mother-daughter duo, residents of Hong Kong, was returning home from Fraser Town here where they had spent a few days with their relatives.

Passersby rushed the trio to hospital. Jagruthi was declared brought dead and Priya Sadhwani was admitted to Columbia Asia Hospital while Honnesh was shifted to Pro Life Hospital in Byatarayanapura.

The Chikkajala police have booked the case of death due to negligence against Ashwaq, Arjun and Honnesh.
