About 200 students of more than 25 engineering and polytechnic colleges participated in the essay writing and oratory competitions held in connection with the birth anniversary of A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at S. S. M. Polytechnic College, Komarapalayam, Namakkal district, recently.
Manoharan (KSR Engineering College, Tiruchengode) won the oratorical competition and Victor Franklin (Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal) won the essay writing competition among the engineering college students.
Polytechnic
In the competition for polytechnic college students, Majmila Ruksana (SSM Polytechnic College, Komarapalayam) and Anupam Subha (Excel Polytechnic College, Namakkal) won the first place in the oratorical and essay writing competitions respectively.
S.S.M.P. Elangovan, chairman of the college, presided. Easwaran, vice-president, gave away the prizes to the winners.
Balamurugan, principal in-charge, felicitated the winners.
