The following weekly superfast special trains will be run to clear the extra rush of passengers during winter season.
Train No.02508 Kamakhya – Chennai Central Weekly Superfast Special will leave Kamakhya at 2 p.m. on Mondays on December 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, January 6, 13, 20 and 27 and arrive Chennai Central at 2.55 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Train No.02507 Chennai Central – Kamakhya Weekly Superfast Special will leave Chennai Central at 11 a.m. on Thursdays on December 5, 12, 19, 26, January 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 and reach Kamakhya at 12.30 p.m. on Saturdays.
Train No.02552 Kamakhya – Yesvantpur Weekly Superfast Special will leave Kamakhya at 2 p.m. on Wednesdays on December 4, 11, 18, 25, January 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29, leave Chennai Central at 11.40 a.m. on Fridays and reach Yesvantpur at 6.30 p.m. on Fridays.
Train No.02551 Yesvantpur – Kamakhya Weekly Superfast Special will leave Yesvantpur at 8.30 a.m. on Saturdays on December 7, 14, 21, 28, January 4, 11, 18, 25 and February 1, leave Chennai Central at 4.10 p.m. on Saturdays and arrive Kamakhya at 1.30 p.m. on Mondays.

Southern Railway will also temporarily augment five trains with an additional sleeper class or AC coach.
Train No.16093 / 16094 Chennai Central – Lucknow – Chennai Central Bi-weekly Express trains (January 28 to March 8 from Chennai Central and from January 30 to March 10 from Lucknow) will be augmented with an additional AC 3-tier and a sleeper class coach.
Train No.16031 / 16032 Chennai Central – Jammutawi – Chennai Central Tri-weekly Express trains will be temporarily augmented by a Sleeper Class coach from February 2 to March 13 from Chennai Central and from February 4 to March 15 from Jammu Tawi.
Train No.22851 / 22852 Santragachi - Mangalore - Santragachi ‘Vivek’ weekly Express trains will be temporarily augmented by one Sleeper Class coach from December 5 to 19 from Santragachi and from December 7 21 from Mangalore.
Train No.12677 / 12678 Bangalore - Ernakulam - Bangalore Intercity Express trains will be temporarily augmented by one AC Chair Car coach with immediate effect till February 25 from Ernakulam and till February 26 from Bangalore.
Train No.15906 / 15905 Dibrugarh - Kanyakumari - Dibrugarh Vivek weekly Express trains will be temporarily augmented by one Sleeper Class coach from December 7 to January 4 from Dibrugarh and from December 14 to January 11 from Kanyakumari.
