Warrant issued against Inspector of Police

May 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 06:02 am IST - Tuticorin:

The Mahila Court here has issued a warrant against an Inspector of Police as he failed to appear before the court to tender witness in a case.

Sources in the court said that the then Inspector of Police in Eral, Ramarajan, who was the investigating officer in an ‘attempt to murder case’ registered by him, failed to appear before the Mahila Court on several occasions when the case came up for hearing since February. Though he was repeatedly reminded of his duty, he failed to tender evidence before the court.

When the investigating officer did not appear before the court on Monday as well, Mahila Court Judge J. Flora issued a warrant against Mr. Ramarajan.
