Veteran CPI leader C. Subramaniam passes away

Veteran CPI leader and one of the founding fathers of the party’s Tamil Nadu unit in the 1930s, C. Subramaniam passed away in Chennai on Sunday.

Mr. Subramaniam (102), known in the party circles as CS, was living alone after his wife Suguna predeceased him.

Expressing condolences, CPI state Secretary D. Pandian said the party flag will fly at half mast for three days as a mark of respect.
