A Village Administration Officer was arrested on graft charge by DVAC sleuths on Thursday.

The accused Rajini (30), a VAO of Thupuganapalli, had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 5,000 from an applicant for patta transfer.

The applicant Anandachari had sought patta transfer for 1.48 ace land owned by his mother Gowramma, who had died a few months ago. Unable to pay the amount, Anadachari had agreed to pay Rs. 3,000.

Further, he paid Rs. 1,000 and also made a complaint to DVAC.

A trap was laid by the anti-corruption vigilance team and the accused was caught red-handed.
