Unemployed computer science teachers stage protest

The members of the Tamil Nadu B. Ed Computer Science Velaiyilla Pattadari Aasiriyargal Sangam staged a demonstration in front of the collectorate here on Thursday urging the Government to introduce Computer Science as a compulsory subjects in classes from VI to X and appoint B. Ed Computer Science graduates as teachers.

They also demanded filling up the vacancies of Computer Science teachers in the higher secondary schools with immediate effect; creation of Computer Science teacher post at the time upgrading of high schools into higher secondary schools. The other demands included filling up the vacancies of computer programmers in block resource centres with B.Ed Computer Science graduates, and according priority to computer science education.

They were pressing for 13-point charter of demands
