Two school children were drowned in a lake near Hosur on Wednesday. According to police, the students S. Manoj (12) and K. Ajai (11) had gone to the Karnur lake for learning swimming and were caught in the sludge when they venture deep in to the lake and drowned.
Both of them belonged to Nethaji Nagar in Mathigiri near Hosur and were studying in two different Government High Schools.
It was alleged that the incident occurred when duo took leave and had gone to the lake for swimming.
When they did not return home in the evening, the parents and their relatives searched them and found their bodies floating in the lake.
The bodies of the children were recovered and sent for post mortem.
Police have registered a case and the investigation is on.
