Two school-going boys were killed in two different incidents at Pochampalli here. A 17-year-old 11th standard boy was drowned in River Thenpennai on Thursday.

The victim Nehru, a student of Karimangalam Government Higher Secondary School, went for a bath. The boy, however, never returned, forcing his parents to look out for him. His cycle was found on the banks of the river, following which a search party set out looking for him. Nehru’s body was retrieved later.

In another incident, a 15-year-old 10th standard boy was fatally hit by a van, while the victim was riding to his school on Wednesday. The boy Netaji sustained grievous injuries killing him on the spot.
