Tributes to Annadurai


Cadres of various political parties and the district administration paid tributes to late Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai here on the occasion of his death anniversary on Wednesday.

A special feast was served at Sri Dhandayuthapaniswamy Temple in Palani and other big temples coming under control of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department in the district. Anna statue junction here was decorated with flags and festoons of all Dravidian parties.

Led by their district secretary I.P. Senthil Kumar, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadres took out a silent rally from Clock Tower to Anna statue junction near the government hospital. Later, they garlanded the statue of the party founder and paid floral tributes.

Cadres of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam too took out a silent procession and garlanded the statue of the former Chief Minister.

While Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadres paid floral tributes to Anna statue near the GH, the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam cadres garlanded a portrait of Annadurai kept at the party office in the morning. Cadres of political parties in Theni too paid tributes.
