Training for revenue officials

Vellore district stood seventh in the State under the National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP), according to R. Nanthagopal, Collector of Vellore.

Inaugurating a training programme conducted for revenue officials under NERPAP at the Collectorate here on Saturday, Mr. Nanthagopal said that 79 per cent of the work under NERPAP which involved inclusion and deletion of names, incorporation of change of address and incorporation of details such as mobile number, email ID and Aadhar number in the electoral rolls has been completed, and the rest would be completed in three days.

The Collector said training is being imparted to officials to undertake the second phase which involves uploading corrections in the computer and removing the shortcomings in electoral rolls.

Sivagnanam, State Joint Chief Electoral Registration Officer supervised the training programme. District Revenue Officer K. Manivannan, and Revenue Divisional Officers Rangarajan (Tirupattur) and Murugesh (Ranipet), Personal Assistant to the Collector (Elections) Kesavalu and Election Tahsildar Sriram participated in the programme.
