Traffic disrupted as elephants try to cross NH

May 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:51 am IST - HOSUR:

Two wild elephants disrupted traffic on Krishnagiri-Hosur National Highway as they tried to cross the road on Tuesday evening.

For the past two weeks, the two male elephants had been on the move from Sanamavu Reserve Forest to Perandapalli Reserve Forest. The elephants were found making panicked bids to cross from Perandapalli forests to Bodurpallam forests across the national highway. On Tuesday evening, the forest department authorities were stopping vehicles and trying to chase the elephants back into the forests.

However, with darkness setting in, the forest department was allowing staggered movement of vehicles.
