Toppers want to become doctors

Three of the four toppers in Plus Two in Kanyakumari district want to become doctors.

R.M. Seshal Leslin of Alphonsa Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Nagercoil, has secured the first rank in the district with a total score of 1,186 marks. She has scored full mark in Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics, 198 marks in Physics, 194 in English and 194 in Tamil.

Both of her parents are teachers in government schools in Tiruvannamalai district. She was staying with her maternal grandparents here.

B. Gopika of Hebron Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Nagercoil, has come second with a total score of 1,183. She has scored full mark in Mathematics and Computer Science, 199 marks in Chemistry, 198 in Physics, 197 in Tamil and 189 in English.

The second place was shared by G.P. Shamini of Alphonsa Matriculation Higher Secondary Schoolwho has got the same score of 1,183 marks. She scored ful mark in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry, 198 marks in Physics, 194 in English and 191 in Tamil. Shamini wants to become a doctor like her mother. After completing M.B.B.S., she wants to become an IAS officer. Her father is working in a textile company in Kerala.

M. Sivashankari, also from same school, has bagged the third place with a score of 1,181. She has got full marks in Mathematics and Biology, 199 in Chemistry, 198 in Physics, 193 in Tamil and 191 in English. Sivashankari too wants to take up M.B.B.S. and serve the downtrodden. Her elder sister, who is pursuing M.B.B.S., motivated her, she says. Her father is working as Ticket Checking Inspector and mother a teacher in a government primary school in Kottaram.
