TNTJ demands stringent punishment to Dadri murder accused

October 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - ERODE:

Members of Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamath staged a demonstration at Karunkalpalayam on Monday condemning alleged lynching of a Muslim at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh for having eaten beef and demanded arrest of the extremist elements in the Sangh Parivar responsible for the murder.

The protestors sustained their protest despite the rain and raised slogans saying the murderous act by Hindutva activists in a state where there is no ban on beef has dented the faith of the people in the country’s democratic fabric.

The State Governments concerned must deal with such elements with an iron hand and punished under severe sections, since such acts could derail law and order situation and harmony. The Uttar Pradesh Government must provide adequate compensation to the family of the victim Mohammad Akhlaq, the protesters demanded.
