TNSTC cashier found murdered

Babu (49), a cashier attached to the Kanyakumari depot of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Nagercoil region, was found murdered in his house in Thekkur near Thuckalay on Sunday morning.

Police said the murder came to light when the wife of the deceased returned home from her parent’s house at Manavalakurichi along with her two children.

Babu was murdered with his hand tied in the backside in a room in the house. Superintendent of Police N. Manivannan who inspected the house said that the murder might have taken place between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday night. A steel almirah in the next room was broken open, but valuables were intact.

Police suspect that Mr. Babu might have been murdered only by known persons. Four special teams have been formed to nab the murderers, Mr. Manivannan said.

The deceased was a relative of Padmanabhapuram Town BJP President Unnikrishnan. Union Minister of State for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping Pon. Radhakrishnan consoled the family members.

Thuckalay police have registered a case.
