TN opens 24X7 dengue helpline

The State health department has announced round-the-clock fever helplines. They are installed at the Directorate of Public Health.

The numbers are: 044-24350496; 044-24334811; 9444340496; and 9361482899. People can call the helplines, besides 104 for additional information on dengue.

Private hospitals have been advised to follow the fever management protocol while treating patients, according to a release from the health department.

The government has also said action will be taken against pharmacies if they sell medicines without prescription.

Action would be taken under Sections 83 and 84 of the TN Public Healh Act and Indian Penal Code Section 269 against eateries which do not maintain sanitation and cleanliness, the release further added.
