Security has been tightened around N. Divya’s residence in Sellankottai village following rumours that she might be kidnapped.
The house has been cordoned off by police for the last eight days. A team of four personnel, including two women constable and a Sub-Inspector, is guarding her house round-the-clock. The outer ring is manned by an Inspector, Sub-Inspector and nine constables.
The two entry points to the village were manned by a Sub-Inspector and four constables. As many as ten constables and a Sub-Inspector were on duty on the Maravadi colony side. A riot-control van and a fire tender have been stationed to handle any emergency.
A top police official said about 60 police personnel, including officers in the rank of Inspectors, were posted for security duty near Divya’s residence as per the directions of the Madras High Court.
The security arrangements were monitored by two Superintendents of Police from Krishnagiri and Salem. Besides intelligence personnel, close relatives and top police officials, no outsiders have been allowed to meet Divya or her mother.
