Three toppers get 496 marks in Karaikal

M. Affrin and M. Aruljothi of SRVS National Higher Secondary School in Karaikal, and T. Komali of Immaculate High School, T.R. Pattinam, stood first in Karaikal district with 496 marks.

Girls fared better than boys. A total of 3,090 students – 1,491 boys and 1,599 girls appeared for the examination through 57 schools in the district. Of them, 2,769 students – 1,293 boys and 1,476 girls - passed the examination. Two students with 495 marks - M. Bhuvaneswari of Nirmala Rani Girls Higher Secondary School and M. Srividhya of Vidhyodhya High School, secured the district second rank. The third rank went to K.S. Shivaniha of Nirmala Rani Girls Higher Secondary School and I. Vishnubashini of Vidhyasri High School in Nedungadu. They secured 494 marks.

V. Vetrivel, Chief Educational Officer, in a press release issued here said that Murugathal Achi Government High School in Karaikal registered a cent per cent pass percentage among government schools in the district.

He said a total of 21 private schools registered cent per cent pass percentage. Students interested in re-totalling can apply for the same from May 22 to 27. Applications for special supplementary examination for candidates who failed in the public examination will be issued till May 27, he added.
