Three persons K. Baskar (28), S. Vinojan (28) and M. Vijayakumar (25) have been detained under Goondas Act on Sunday. The three had murdered Manikanda Prabhu, a youth, at Vellanur village on September 24. The District Collector, S. Ganesh, issued orders, based on the recommendations of E.S. Uma, Superintendent of Police, detaining them under the Act. They were lodged at Central Prison, Tiruchi.
Big Temple feast on October 22
The two-day 1,030-th Sadhaya Vizha will commence at the Big Temple on October 22. Veena concert, Bharatanatyam, patti mandram, and honouring K. Thangamuthu and V. Ramasubramanian with “Mamannan Rajarajan award” will form some important features of the festival.
