Three more held for PMK man’s murder

The Thiruvidaimarudur police arrested three more persons in connection with the murder of V. Ramalingam, a PMK functionary, in Thirubhuvanam.

Ramalingam was attacked by a gang in the village on the night of February 5 and he died of injuries. Five persons were arrested by the police on February 7.

Upon further investigation, three more persons – Mohammed Tawbeek, 29, and Mohammed Parveesh, 29, of Thirumangalakudi and Tawheeth Batcha, 26, of Aavaniyapuram – were arrested on Saturday, the police said.

Ramalingam had a heated argument with some persons, who he accused of attempting to convert to Islam a section of Dalits in the village.

A video clip of the incident had gone viral.
