Three persons charged with child trafficking were arrested by the Tenkasi police on Wednesday night. According to police, V. Sumathi, one-and-a-half-year-old baby from Tenkasi, went missing since January 19. Based on a complaint lodged by the mother of the baby, a team launched search operations and arrested the trio – S. Selvam (44) of Tenkasi, S. Thayappan (44) of Keela Puliyur and Karpagam (37), wife of Shanmugasundaram (41), Tenkasi. Shanmugam, the other accomplice, is absconding. A hunt is on to nab him.
