The Hindu Education Plus Career Fair 2011 will be held at the Chennai Trade Centre at Nandambakkam in the city on May 20 and 21.
At the pre-counselling session, Sudha Seshayyan, Registrar, Tamil Nadu MGR Medical University, will address the students on counselling in medicine/dentistry and allied courses. Education consultant Jayaprakash Gandhi will address the students on the possibilities of securing an engineering seat and choice of courses. The sessions will be on IT, media, core engineering and other off-beat career options.
High school and higher secondary school students and graduates aspiring for higher studies can participate and benefit from lectures on career options and seminar sessions at the fair.
VIT University is the main sponsor. Entry is free. Parents who are keen on helping their children take up the right career path can accompany the students.
Students, from Class IX to XII, wishing to take psychometric test at the venue will have to register online at www.bodhi.co.in before May 19. Bodhi's personality test will assess the individual on different factors such as people orientation, planning, time management, decision making, eye for details, emotional sensitivity and so on. This will help the students gain a strong insight into his or her strengths and areas for improvement, while at the same time empowering one to plan the right career.
There will be stalls at the fair by top engineering colleges, business schools, aviation and animation industry, IT training institutes and coaching centres.
