Teachers' association plea to review functioning of universities

May 31, 2011 12:49 am | Updated 12:49 am IST - Chennai:

Critical of the rampant corruption and nepotism in the appointment of Vice-Chancellors and faculty members in universities, the Association of University Teachers (AUT) has appealed to the government to review the functioning of universities.

Promising full support, the association asked the government to bring about the system to Common Core Curriculum (CCC) with Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as a State policy.

The universities are riddled with fallacies due to hasty implementation of the CBCS, said C. Pichandy, general secretary of the association.
