Target for loan distribution fixed at Rs. 10 crore

A loan target of Rs. 10 crore has been fixed by the Tamil Nadu Backward Classes Economic Development Corporation Limited (TABCEDCO) for the current year in the district.

Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy said that beneficiaries belonging to backward, most backward classes and denotified communities whose family incomes do not exceed Rs. 98,000 in rural areas and Rs. 1.20 lakh in urban areas are eligible to apply.

Also, beneficiaries seeking loans as individuals and through self-help group should be above 18 years and below 60 years.

Loan assistance will be sanctioned for one person in a family at 6 per cent interest.

Officials said that the repayment period is three to five years and members of the above communities are asked to utilise the opportunity.

Forms can be had free of cost from the office of the District Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Officer at the Collectorate, officials added.
