TANCET conducted in seven centres in Salem district

1,641 candidates registered for MBA exams, of which 1,479 appeared

A large number of candidates appeared for the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2015 conducted by the Anna University for admission into the MCA and MBA courses in seven centres in the district on Saturday.

The candidates appeared for the examinations at Government College of Engineering, Sona College of Technology, Jayaram Arts College, VSA Engineering College, Mahendra Engineering College, Thiagaraja Polytechnic College and CSI Polytechnic College.

Of the 750 candidates who had registered their names for the examinations for admission into MCA course, 712 appeared for the test held in five centres in the morning.

A total of 1,641 had registered their names for the MBA examinations, of which 1,479 appeared in the seven centres in the afternoon.

Monitored

R.S.D. Wahida Banu, Principal, Government College of Engineering and local coordinator of TANCET, visited all the seven centres and monitored the peaceful conduct of examinations.

Flying squad personnel, too, visited the centres to ensure that no malpractices took place.

As many as 1,915 candidates are expected to appear for the examinations for admission into ME, M.Tech / M. Arch and M. Phil courses scheduled in these centres on Sunday.
