The official vehicle of the tahsildar (Social Security Scheme), Radhapuram was attached by the court on Friday as the compensation ordered by the court was not disbursed to a few land owners.
A few hundred owners lost their lands when Indian Navy established its communication centre, INS Kattabomman at Vijayanarayanam a few decades ago. When the compensation of Rs. 5.20 lakh was not given to 17 land owners, they approached the court, which directed the officials to disburse the amount without further delay.
As the officials failed to execute the court’s order, they filed petitions again in the court that ordered the attachment of some of the properties of the tahsildar concerned. Subsequently, the jeep of Radhapuram Tahsildar (Social Security Schemes), a computer, 13 fans and the furniture in his office were attached on Friday.
