The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Salem, and the Salem chapter of Young Indians will jointly organise ‘Ozhimayam,’ a contest aimed at identifying and showcasing aspiring and emerging entrepreneurs from south Tamil Nadu soon.
The ‘OzhiMayam’ is a business plan competition for college students and early stage entrepreneurs who have a business idea or venture in mind. The contest encourages plans for new businesses, as well as from early stage companies.
The logo of the ‘OzhiMayam’ was launched at a brief function held at Periyar University on Tuesday.
C. Swaminathan, Vice-Chancellor, released the logo in the presence of K.M.S. Rajesh Kumar, chairman, CII Salem; P. Vimalan, vice-chairman, V. Aravinthan, chair-Yi Salem Chapter; Yatin B. Shah, its co-chair; and V. Sudhakar, project coordinator – OzhiMayam.Mr. Rajesh Kumar said that this contest would help promote innovative ideas and support them with mentoring and much needed funding.
Those interested should submit a business plan of their idea/venture. The expert team comprising senior entrepreneurs, experts and investors will act as judges.
The programme aims at enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the State and introduce the students to take up the culture of entrepreneurship.
Applications will be accepted both from serious mainstream entrepreneurs and students. They will be processed separately. Candidates should submit entries atwww.ozhimayam.com. The last date for submission of the entries is January 30.
The entries registered before January 11 will be called for a Boot Camp Session. The registered entries will be short listed and evaluated on February 7. Ten outstanding entries in each category would be called for the finals on February 27 and 28.
