Students stunned by sniffer dogs’ performance

January 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - Ramanathapuram:

Jansi and Lyca, the sniffer dogs in the police dog squad at the district headquarters, stole limelight with their sterling performance at the cultural events organised on the occasion of Republic Day celebrations here on Monday.

Jansi stunned the large number of school students and public with its accurate sniffing ability. It caught red handed a person in possession of explosive and detected a bag containing explosive materials.

The younger Lyca stole the limelight with its acrobatic acts, jumping through fire rings and crossing the hurdles with ease.

Both drew wide applause when they stretched their paws and bowed to salute Collector K Nanthakumar, Superintendent of Police N.M. Mylvahanan and other dignitaries before bidding adieu.
