State toppers eye on medicine

Two State toppers from the district who have scored 499 marks in the SSLC examination were keen on pursuing medicine as their profession.

Daughter of K.N. Shiva, Principal Scientist at National Research Centre for Banana, Tiruchi and R. Jeyanthi, a homemaker, S. Chakshine of Green Park Girls Matriculation Higher Secondary School in Bodhupatty here scored centum in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Science and 99 marks in Tamil. “I expected to score the maximum”, she added.

A. Sneha of S.K.V. Matriculation Girls Higher Secondary School in M. Kandampalayam also scored centum in four subjects while she scored 99 marks in Tamil. Her father D. Haribaskar is a Senior Section Engineer at Integral Coach Factory, Chennai, while her mother M. Kavitha is a homemaker. Stating that she was expecting the State rank, she said that unit tests helped her to gain confidence and score marks. “We never insisted her to study for long hours. We know that she would score”, added her father.

Both the toppers wish to pursue their career as doctor and serve society. “The profession is our dream since childhood”, both added.
