SSI transferred

June 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - DINDIGUL:

Superintendent of Police A. Saravanan has ordered the transfer of a Special Sub-Inspector following a charge of inappropriate behaviour in a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus.

According to the police, the SP has transferred R. Lakshmanan, SSI attached to the Ammayanaickanur police station, to the Dindigul armed reserve on Friday and ordered an enquiry into the charge.

It is alleged that the SSI sat next to a woman passenger while travelling in a bus bound for Kumuli from Tiruchi on Thursday. He picked up an argument, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, with the woman and fellow passengers, who objected to his behaviour.

A video recording of the incident went viral in the social media.
